10/100 Base-T Ethernet to 5E1 Converter
NIC-5EB

NIC-5EB Bundling of up to 5x E1 (max 9.92Mbps simultaneously for both direction of transmitting and receiving) can be used in Ethernet over SDH or PDH application with high speed, which is an ideal equipment for point-to-point application or internet access.

NIC-5EB has an optional 100Base-Fx fiber optical interface to extend the Ethernet signal transmission range up to 120Km. NIC-5EB can be directly connected to the 100Base-Fx port of a media converter or an Ethernet switch.

NIC-5EB supports end-to-end SNMP management. In-band remote management can realize the monitor and configuration of the remote standalone unit via the local card unit in NIC-iRACK. Furthermore, if the NIC-5EB using 100Base-Fx fiber optical interface connects directly with NIF-iSA/V5 which is an Ethernet fiber media converter made by our company, In-band remote management can realize the monitor and configuration of both the remote NIC-5EB and the downstream NIF-iSA.

NIC-5EB has the function of E1 channel performance monitor and protection. Operators can set a BER threshold in 1x10-4, 1x10-5 or 1x10-6 level for E1 channels. When the bit error rate of one E1 channel is beyond the threshold, NIC-5EB will automatically shut down the data transmission of this channel to avoid the packet loss. And when the bit error rate of this E1 channel is less than the threshold value, the unit will automatically resume the E1 channel for data transmission.

Extraordinarily, NIC-5EB shuts down the bad E1 channel unilaterally to keep the maximum transmission bandwidth. For example, NIC-5EB will shut down the input and keep the normal output of this E1 channel when only the input BER of this E1 channel is beyond the threshold.

NIC-5EB allows 16ms of transmission delay between its random 2 E1 channels to ensure the correct frame sequence for recovering the IP packet. This can raise the data transmission efficiency greatly to avoid the resending of IP packets
