Compact Fiber Optical Multiplexer
FOM-4/8
FOM-4/8 fiber optic multiplexer with high-performance
ASIC design, integrates 4/8 E1 channels, 2 clear asynchronous
RS-232 data channels and an optional 100Mbps Ethernet
traffic into one fiber optical link, for distance up to
120Km. FOM4/8 fiber optical Multiplexer can be used to
extend the E1 and Ethernet transmission distance transparently
without performance degradation via fiber cables, and
provides a cost-effective and high-performance solution
for the last mile access of PSTN network or other data
service. FOM-4/8 transmits each of the tributary E1 channels
independently. The E1 interface can be 75Ω unbalanced
BNC or 120Ω balanced RJ-45.
Ethernet transmission utilizes an integrated 10/100Base-T RJ-45 port. The Ethernet port can operate in half or full duplex mode, and supports auto-negotiation and transparent VLAN forwarding.
Two types of standalone and card versions are optional. The standalone compact 1U high unit is available for mounting in a 19-inch rack. And the card version can be installed in NIC-iRACK, a universal rack for SNMP management. Moreover, in-band management for the standalone unit via the card unit in NIC-iRACK is available.
